Background
Inala Shipping (Pty Ltd, (Inala), was founded in 2008 but started operating from December 2009. The founder of the company Nkanyiso Buthelezi has been in the shipping industry for more than 10 years. The company handles both dry and wet cargoes.

Inala shipping strives to become a world-class provider of shipping services, with a particular focus on goods that pass through the South African ports, i.e. exports and imports.

Through it's superior value-adding business operations and international networks, Inala strives to ensure that real benefits accrue to its clients and for its stakeholders to derive real returns from its interventions at different levels of the shipping value chain.
Main Business
With the 8 South African Commercial ports handling close to 250 million tons of cargo per annum, i.e. both imports and exports, bulk, break-bulk, containers, both dry and liquids, Inala shareholders realised the imperative of starting a truly South African company which would gradually start growing the number of South African ships carrying South African cargoes, either inward or outward bound. The focus in the past has been on the dry cargo market but the company is gradually making inroads into the liquids market as well.

Nkanyiso Buthelezi, has acquired a lot of experience in both the dry and liquid cargo markets and is the executive chairman of the company. He is currently responsible for the strategic direction of the company.
